Supervision details
Welcome - I hope the information below helps you decide if I am the right supervisor for you, and gives you an idea of my experience that can support you in your clinical work.
Collaborative approach: I adapt my approach to suit what you are bringing and we can agree in advance what will help. Anything ranging from a curious, exploratory style or directive. If you're interested in specific theories I draw from, I mostly use Seven Eyed Process, Normative, Formative and Restorative, Internal Process Recall, and Gordon. However, I invite you to use different styles of supervision, as appropriate, for example bringing questions, themes, caseload reviews, recordings (if you're CBT trained these are for CTSRs) - anything that will support you.
Informed by good practise principles: Including UCL skills, Treatment Protocols, BABCP/BPS Ethical codes.
Support with clinical decision making: such as risk, deciding on a treatment focus, or clients suitability for therapy approach.
All aspects of your therapy work: Sometimes you have questions, need to ‘vent’ something, are completely stuck, or need to focus on something in your own life. I can support you with these, as well as celebrate successes, focus on day to day clinical practise, as well as support you with anything from job role demands, progress, workplace dynamics, to compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma and burnout.
Focus on you: Commitment to developing, or, working with strengths and style of clinician.
Values: ‘human-first’ style, honesty and creativity; also when appropriate, humour; exploration of personal and professional power dynamics, and developing therapy practise working both within and beyond protocols, anti-oppressive approaches. I am careful in choosing my supervisors, and I have experienced what a difference excellent supervision can make to so many different aspects of our professional and personal lives.
Experience: I have worked in charities, NHS, and commercial healthcare services as well as my own private practise.
Training: I come from an Integrative Counselling background drawing from many humanistic therapies, training later in High Intensity CBT Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR, ACT, RFT, mCBT, Schema Therapy, IFS and Psychosynthesis Leadership Coaching. I've completed additional training in Personality Disorders, cPTSD, trauma of racism, shame, gender affirming care and working with issues affecting LGBTQIA+ groups, ADHD/ASD treatments, and Risk and Safeguarding at Level 4. Aside from keeping up to date with anxiety and depression disorders, I have specialist interests in PTSD, PMDD, leadership, neuroscience, data engineering, as well as clinician mental health.
Supervision focus: I have worked with many clinicians over the years supporting ‘newbie’ to expert clinicians, giving space to discuss anything to do with your delivery of therapy, from treatment plans to personal issues affecting working life.
Fee: £60 per hour / £80 per 1.5 hour
Next steps: I offer a 20 minute free meeting to discuss any questions, and to identify what you're looking for. Please contact me to arrange a time.
I can be flexible with times/days both within and outside office hours.
If we agree to work together, I will send a supervision agreement.
