I have worked as a Counsellor for 20 years, and prior to this as a Senior Occupational Therapist (in community learning disability and mental health), where I supervised junior staff weekly.

I am committed to the Psychodynamic model but also have training in Integrative Counselling, and have a good understanding of other counselling modalities. I have extensive experience in Brief work, working to a 4 -6 session model with Students (for 5+ years) and in the NHS (for 3.5 years), as well as charity services. In my private practice I offer both brief counselling and longer term therapy, including twice weekly.

I have a wide range of professional and clinical experience, and have worked with a diverse range of people from different cultural and religious backgrounds (see www.pippawatsonrees.com for more information). I have my own regular supervision and keep up to date with CPD activities.

For 16 years I worked in the city of Oxford, but relocated to Edinburgh summer 2018. I currently work in a consulting room at The Southside Centre in Newington (EH9 1PY), The Life Academy in Bruntsfield (EH10 4DW), and from my own Consulting room in EH9. I am available for Skype, Zoom or telephone sessions too. I offer an Initial Consultation session to talk about your needs and to decide if we can work usefully together.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Bruntsfield Therapy centre location is wheelchair accessible. Please inform me of accessibility issues on enquiry.
