Supervision details

I offer one to one supervision with extensive experience working with children and young people. However, I also supervise professionals working with adults. I work in a way that promotes the development of each supervisee, to support and guide each individual to grow in to the professional they wish to become. I work from my own private office which is based in Sunderland city centre and offers a comfortable and safe environment.

I believe the supervisory relationship should be equal and a one which encourages mutual respect and honesty. It is my role to build confidence and encourage self exploration to ensure the supervisee can resolve any issues autonomously. I am not in any position to criticise or undermine the work of the supervisee but to encourage and support your decisions when necessary. The cost of supervision is £50 per hour.

I also offer group supervision for women who are in training, newly qualified, and/or neurodivergent: Starting out as a counsellor can be quite exciting, empowering, and very rewarding, however it can also be scary and quite daunting. With this in mind, I would like to introduce, group supervision for women. Group supervision is designed to offer support to those on their counselling placements, newly qualified counsellors and to those who have been practicing for a while, including support for neurodivergent women in practice. To keep the group intimate and to hold a sense of safety and security, the group will be limited to 5 people each month. The group will run in a relaxed environment with opportunities to be creative, somewhere you can learn from each other, reflect on your practice or even just a space to listen and observe.

If you would like to book a place, please check our webpage, or get in touch for bespoke groups. Group supervision will take place once a month and will run for up to 1.5 hours each time we meet. The group is limited to 5 people per group. The cost of the group is £25 per person per hour/ £30 per person per 1.5 hours, per month.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
