I am a qualified supervisor and I have worked for over 17 years as a clinical supervisor. I work with individuals and small groups of therapists meeting on a regular basis in London. I am also available by arrangement to work at a distance via Skype. I work in English and Spanish.

My theoretical understanding and practice of supervision is based on the Person Centered Approach with a focus on the relational process between therapist and client. It is also informed by Inskipp and Proctor's model of the Normative, Formative and Restorative functions and tasks of supervision, as well as Hawkins and Shohet's Seven Eyed Supervisor model.

I see supervision as a form of inquiry in which two people (the supervisor and supervisee) together try to understand what is going on within the counselling relationship and within the counsellor. It is a collaborative and professional relationship which provides a space where you can be curious about your work. This, in turn, promotes learning, personal and professional development, self care, self-awareness and an ethical practice.

I endeavour to offer an emotionally safe environment in which to explore both the challenges and successes of working with clients. There is a space to present clients as well as looking at your own process, and also the process of the relationship. Within supervision, you can make sense of your work, your thoughts and the feelings that arise within the therapeutic relationship. I encourage reflective practice, and for you to decide what you need from our meeting. That can be about exploring the relationship, transference, counter-transference and projection, and developing an understanding of skills and theory that will promote good practice and enhance your own internal supervisor.  I aim to encourage supervisees to develop their own practice, their own identity within the profession.

I believe mutual review and feedback is key to developing and evaluating the supervisory relationship. My experience includes working with both trainees and experienced counsellors/psychotherapist either on an individual basis or within groups. I also provide supervision on behalf of placements and companies.

I offer a limited number of reduced-cost places for people unable to pay the full fee.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
