Supervision details

With over 18 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy and counselling, I am a dedicated and seasoned clinical supervisor committed to supporting the professional growth and development of therapists at all stages of their careers. My approach blends clinical expertise, compassionate guidance, and a collaborative spirit to create a supportive environment where supervisees can thrive and excel in their clinical practice.

As a qualified  psychotherapist with extensive experience working in various clinical settings, I bring a wealth of practical knowledge and insight to my supervisory role. My deep understanding of therapeutic modalities, treatment approaches, and ethical considerations equips me to provide comprehensive supervision across diverse therapeutic orientations.

I hold recognised qualifications in clinical supervision and I am registered with the UKCP as a clinical supervisor.  I have undergone specialised training in supervisory techniques, ethical supervision practices, and the dynamics of the supervisory relationship. My training ensures that I adhere to best practices in supervision while maintaining a client-centred focus and upholding professional standards of care.

My approach is collaborative and supportive: I believe in fostering a collaborative supervisory relationship built on trust, respect, and open communication. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where supervisees feel empowered to explore their clinical work, discuss challenges, and reflect on their professional growth with honesty and authenticity.

Central to my supervisory approach is a strengths-based perspective that recognises and celebrates the unique strengths, skills, and qualities that each supervisee brings to their clinical practice. By focusing on strengths rather than deficits, I aim to empower supervisees to harness their potential and cultivate their strengths as therapists.

I value the importance of reflective practice in supervision and encourage supervisees to engage in ongoing self-reflection, critical thinking, and professional development. Through guided reflection and constructive feedback, I support supervisees in deepening their understanding of clinical issues, enhancing their therapeutic skills, and fostering a commitment to lifelong learning.

I offer guidance and support in clinical case conceptualisation and intervention strategies across a wide range of presenting issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and identity exploration.  In addition, I provide ethical guidance and consultation to help supervisees navigate complex ethical dilemmas and uphold professional standards of practice and ethical conduct in their clinical work.

I facilitate supervisees' professional development by offering tailored support, resources, and opportunities for skill-building and self-care.
