  • >Supervisor Sarah Murray Counsellor & Supervisor of Moment by Moment Counselling

I trained in Person Centred counselling at Strathclyde University (PG Dip) and graduated in 2015. Since then I have a varied experience including private practice, counselling adults in the voluntary sector and managing a counselling service for Black, Minority and Ethnic women, including the line management and supervision of the counselling team. For the past four years I have predominantly worked for a charity counselling young survivors of sexual violence and for the past 18 months I have managed their young people's counselling service, including line managing and supervising a team of 4 therapists. I have recently taken up private practice full time, where I work with a variety of clients.

I trained with Persona for 6 months in 2020 to gain my Clinical Counselling Supervision certificate. This training reignited my passion for supporting people to grow and develop, something which I feel passionately about in both my clinical and supervisory work. I believe I am a good fit for both experienced and trainee supervisee’s and will provide a safe, nurturing space for you (and your clients).

Although I am a person centred therapist, I have experience of supervising therapists from various different modalities including: CBT, psychodynamic, dance movement and art therapy. I have a curiosity for other approaches and believe this supervisory relationship can also work well.

I look forward to my own supervision each month as I feel held, supported and gently challenged and always leave with a renewed energy and motivation. I hope this is what I offer to my supervisees too.  I believe supervision should be a collaborative relationship between colleagues and I would be keen to discuss each of our expectations and how we might work together during an initial meeting. It’s important you feel safe and comfortable enough with me to share both the positive and difficult moments in your client work, so as we can work together to ensure you are providing the best practice possible.

Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with any questions or to book a free 30 minute session to explore if we'd work well together.
