About me

I am an experienced UKCP registered psychotherapist with over 13 years of clinical practice.  As well as working in private practice, I have experience working in a wide range of mental health settings including an NHS multi-disciplinary Adult Community Mental Health Team and a Specialist Counselling Service for people with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
I have an active interest in service quality improvement and have been working with psychological therapy services in the voluntary and statutory sectors since 2013 helping them to reduce their DNAs and understand unplanned endings and increase their improvement and recovery rates.  I also deliver clinical training on the therapeutic application of questionnaire feedback and the use of blended measurement.
Since 2016, I have held the post of Visiting Research Fellow with the Centre of Community Mental Health at Birmingham City University and have been working with colleagues to create and support a UK learning community for voluntary sector counselling and psychotherapy services. I've also been an author on several academic publications.

My style of working is to provide a safe space for you to examine the work you’re undertaking with your clients and to explore and reflect on this with you and where appropriate, gently challenge you.  I’m also very interested in reflecting on and exploring the unconscious and parallel processes that occur between client and therapist and the therapist and supervisor.  My aim as a supervisor is to facilitate safe and ethical practice as well as working collaboratively with you to support and enable you to grow and develop in your work.
I offer supervision to qualified practitioners, those in training and practitioners from other helping professions.

I offer a free 30-minute, no obligation, telephone consultation to discuss what you’re wanting from a supervisory relationship and how we might work together.

My fee for supervision for qualified therapists is £45 per hour, and I offer concessionary rates for trainee counsellors.  I offer supervision in person, online or by telephone.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
