I qualified as a Person-Centered/Existential Counsellor in 2005 and this is at the core of my practice as a Counsellor and now as a Clinical Supervisor.  However, I also work in an integrative way, incorporate CBT, Gestalt and psychodynamic ways of working into my practice.

As a Consultative Supervisor, I see my role as a nurturing, encouraging and educative practitioner who is not afraid to challenge.  I feel passionately about the importance and value of good supervision as a way of developing counselling practice and celebrating all the good work counsellors do with their clients.  I enjoy working creatively with supervisees and use collage, sculpting, role-play, interview and mindfulness.

I use the Cyclical Model (Page & Wasket) and the Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet) in my supervision practice and I see my role as helping supervisees to reflect openly and honestly about themselves and their practice, accept challenge and ultimately help them to grow and develop in their practice.

For the last 10 years I have worked as a Counsellor on a part time basis with the Employee Wellbeing Service at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board.  I trained as a Trauma Therapist with Cardiff & Vale University Health Board in 2013 working with PTSD and Trauma.  I also work part time as a Senior Trauma Therapist with the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), Cardiff & Vale University Health Board.

I started my private practice in 2015 because I knew that clients in my area were waiting exceptionally long periods of time to see a counsellor.  I also wanted to develop my supervision practice post qualification.

I qualified as a Consultative Supervisor with the University of South Wales in 2015.  Since qualifying I provide Specialist Trauma Focused Clinical Supervision to Counselling Midwives in Cwm Taff Health Board, Nursing staff in the Safeguarding Teams at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, Wellbeing Practitioners and Counsellors at Cardiff University, Counsellors in Atal y Fro and front line Crisis Workers in Womens Aid (Rise), the Out of Hours Crisis Workers at the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Cardiff and telephone supervision to support workers with The Survivors Trust.  I also provide Clinical Supervision to Counsellors in private practice including counsellors who work in schools and colleges.  I welcome enquirers from supervisors in training.

I provide individual and group supervision (maximum of 4 supervisees per group) during the day or evenings. I also offer telephone supervision between planned sessions if required (there is a charge for this service).
