Philippa has a level 7 post graduate qualification in Clinical Supervision which she gained from the University of Derby. Her training and qualifications encompass Counselling Psychology at doctorate level, counselling and psychotherapy. Philippa is also a registered senior Equine facilitated Psychotherapist, and is published in the area of equine therapy, trauma and the brain.
She offers both face to face and online supervision to practitioners who are qualified and still in training. She has a passion and strength for formulation and drawing theory into practice. A lot of practitioners are good at doing therapy but struggle to make the theory practice links. Philippa uses an integrative model of supervision which rests upon a systemic approach. Her ability to attend to phenomenological and relational processes that may be playing out in the room between supervisees and their clients and supervisees and Philippa is often found to be extremely insightful for supervisees. In the context of equine settings, phenomenological and relational aspects of the equine process are of central importance. Philippa offers supervision to practitioners working in talking and equine therapy settings.
“I have been attending supervision with Philippa for a year. Philippa has a wealth of theoretical knowledge to share as well as being very intuitive and fully present in the sessions. I attended an equine assisted supervision session with Philippa which was fantastic. It was great to be reflexive of my client work in a different capacity and it was hugely enlightening. Through my private supervision with Philippa, I have learnt a lot and have grown in confidence in my practice.”
