Supervision details
Counselling Supervision from a BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor. This puts me in a group of less than 4 per cent of BACPs 48,000 members, who've achieved this professional title.I am a BACP Senior Accredited Supervisor and an EMDR Accredited Consultant, able to offer supervision in both.I have a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision from the University of Derby and an MSc. in Psychological Trauma Management, from the University of Ulster.Supervision or ‘consultative support’ is essential for effective therapy. All BACP members working as therapists are bound by the Ethical Framework (2010 p6, para 7) to monitor their therapy work through ongoing supervision.I am also Director of Counselling for a community organisation, overseeing the clinical work of 14 counsellors. The supervision I deliver, will be from a developmental theoretical perspective, integrated with the Page and Wosket Cyclical Model, contained within supervisee friendly, core conditions. The supervisee should expect to develop professionally under supervision, as theoretical and clinical experience increases. I offer clinical supervision to EMDR colleagues which is recognised by EMDR UK/I/& Europe due to being an EMDR Europe Consultant. Ive guided colleagues through the process to becoming both Accredited Practitioner and Consultant. My maxim for supervision is:- "Awareness through Reflection." I supervise both clinically and managerially for several organisations. Please feel free to email me on:- info@a1supervision.co.uk or give me ring on 07541549786.My website is:- www.a1supervision.co.ukThe rates are listed there, with reductions/comcessions for trainee counsellors. I also offer reduced rates for trainee or p/t counsellors (counsellors who are working limited/reduced hours).
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
