My name is Kishnama.
I am an integrative qualified supervisor, with over five years of experience offering supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors.
Supervision- A Code of Practice
My aim in supervision is to work collaboratively with the counsellors or trainee counsellors , encouraging the growth and exploration of the supervisee's own style of work in a relaxed and non-authoritarian atmosphere. I aim to be as accessible as possible and willing to offer supervisees the benefit of my own experience as a counsellor, for the supervisee to work with, if they wish as appropriate with their own clients. I aim to work with an understanding and consideration of the supervisees own clinical orientation. I also seek to help the supervisee to maintain ethical behaviour and boundaries within the BACP guideline and explore ethical dilemmas as they arise.
My approach to supervision is integrative, based on my person centred training and a combination of the Proctor (1986) model and the Hawkins and Sohet (1989) model. I see the supportive, educative and monitoring function of supervision as important and believe these form an integral part of supervision contracts.
As my supervisee you have the right to know what the conditions of supervision are in order to give adequate informed consent to your supervision and the issues surrounding this.
1. I will be available to see supervisees only by negotiable arrangement. All sessions last for one hour unless agreed otherwise.
2. You will have my phone number , which may be answered or connected to an answerphone. you may leave messages on the voicemail at any time and I will return your call as soon as I am available to do so. I do not address supervision issues in the phone unless there are exceptional circumstances . If there is problem that need urgent attention I will make you an appointment to meet with me where we can discuss it. However, supervisees need to be aware that telephone numbers are not boundaried by confidentiality.
3. My fees are £40 an hour, payable by check, cash or bank transfer. Before the commencement of each session. Additional time spent on paperwork required by college etc will be charged depending on time spent on doing so.
4 It is very important that you attend all booked sessions. There is a 48 hours cancellation policy to avoid having to pay for miss session or late cancelation. Session must start on time and end on time. If you arrive late your session will still end at the expected time.
I can offer appointments both during the day and evening depending on space and availability at the time.
