Supervision is an important aspect of counselling and I believe that it is vital that the Supervisory relationship is open, honest, supportive and challenging. In order to gain the most out of supervision the relationship must be based on trust. This enables the Supervisee to openly explore the work that they are presenting without fear of feeling judged, but at the same time taking the opportunity to challenge themselves and their practice. Supervision is a place where all clinical work can be thought about, offering support for the difficulties and celebration for positive outcomes.
