Independent, Professional Supervision

I am able to offer an independent, professional, confidential service, a professional relationship which is ethical, nurturing, encouraging, motivating, safeguarding and provides mentoring. Supervision is a great source of information and guidance. This is offered to trainee counsellors, qualified counsellors or other professionals working in the care/education systems.

In accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Code of Ethical Practice, supervision is an obligatory requirement for Counsellors and Psychotherapists in practice.

Supervision is an opportunity to reflect on practice, to gain insight, discover what is going well in work and gain learning on how to improve practice/service we offer others when things go wrong/we are feeling stuck. Supervision is to process any feelings evoked by work, to discuss strategies used, encourage and motivate the supervisee in their personal and professional development. Standards of care are discussed to promote best practice and gain positive outcomes.

Supervision for Teams/Organisations

In recent years, other professionals and organisations are recognising the benefits of regular independent supervision. Recognising the support needs of staff can be seen both in the effectiveness of individual members of staff and dynamics of the team. The supervision helps to support professionals with the emotional demands of their role by providing a confidential space to process any feelings, to focus on identifying triggers, find solutions working alongside the supervisor, enhancing practice and preserving resilience.

By implementing supervision, the benefits include-

·         Improved practice

·         A work culture which is valuing of all

·         Improved recruitment and valuing of staff

·         Enhanced accountability and motivation

·         Enhanced well-being and reduced sickness

·         Improved communication

·         Maintenance of skills and quality practice

·         Increased job satisfaction

·         Safeguarding of standards of care-promoting best practice

With over 12 years of experience in mental health and well-being, I offer supervision to a variety of professionals- counsellors, psychotherapists, coaches, mentors, crisis workers, managers,  lecturers, teachers, students and trainee's.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.
