I offer both group and individual supervision. My original training was in Person Centred Counselling. I then trained in Integrative psychotherapy (MSc., Metanoia) before going on to postgraduate study in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I have recently completed Doctoral research into the private lives of therapists and how this affects their work with clients. I am particularly interested in the unconscious motivations we have to become therapists and why we choose the models we do. This also means we may work with particular clients in a particular way, sometimes to the good and sometimes not. When does our own process enhance our work with clients, and when might it inhibit us? And how do we know the difference?
Supervision is a collaborative effort, a process of exploration and the development of both personal and professional learning. I work with both students and qualified psychotherapists.
