Supervision details
Hello, I am a Person Centred and CBT counsellor offering supervision to trainee and fully qualified counsellors. I am a registered accredited member of the BACP. I have some flexibility re days available, circumstances can change and I understand that especially for trainees. I hold a degree in counselling, diploma in CBT, Young persons safety training, rape crisis training and too much numerous Cpd hours to type out. I worked for rape crisis and managed the referal's process and new counsellors for Grimsby division for several years and this work taught me a lot. I hold a clinical certificate in supervision approved by the British Psychological society, I did this qualification because I found it more focused than some of the counselling supervision training offered. I have been supervising for over 8 years now in private and the voluntary sector. I am primarily a person centred counsellor , integrated with CBT, solution focused. However as a supervisor I think it's not the type of counsellor I am but my approach to you as a supervisor. I.e I believe I can work with a different type of therapist to my self as the process for the clients and counsellor still exists. I like to keep supervision sessions focused with room for movement however I think it's good to have a structure for both of us, you are just as much responsible for the session as I am. I have worked with supervisee's whilst they are on placement at it's my right charity that works with clients who have suffered sexual and domestic violence, students and qualified counsellors in my private practice based in North Cotes. Please contact me for more details. I charge students the reduced rate £45 for 1.5hrs or £40 for an hour as per BACP ethical framework. Fully qualified £55 for up to 1.5hrs monthly For further details please email me on geraldine.sellars243@btinternet.com

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
