I am a Person-centred Counsellor and Supervisor based in Blackpool. Having been in private practice  since 1995, I have worked with numerous people during that time on a huge variety of issues.

I particularly value the Person-centred Approach because it empowers individuals and enables them to regain some control over their own lives and circumstances.

Although a well qualified, experienced and BACP Accredited Counsellor, I am just an ordinary person who values other people.

I became a Counsellor because I experienced how valuable it was as a client when I was struggling with some issues as a mature student at the University of Central Lancs in 1989.

Over the years I have provided Counsellor Training and Supervision to students on a number of person-centred Diploma Courses in a variety of settings. I now supervise trainee and qualified Counsellors and Supervisors on both an individual and an organisational basis.

I also offer Clinical Supervision to ISVA's (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors) and IDVA's (Independent Domestic Abuse Advisors) in addition to other non-counselling Clinical Practitioners.

I believe it is essential that I provide a safe, supportive space for exploration of any issues and concerns related to Counselling practice and Supervisee wellbeing.

As a Supervisor I have gained a good understanding of issues related to counselling within the NHS, at various HM Prison sites, in Education, in voluntary organisations and also when working with Counsellors and Supervisors in Bereavement and Cancer related employment.

As a Clinical Supervisor I help ensure that clients are experiencing a confidential, safe and effective practice via their practitioners, and these practitioners are being well supported.

SInce 2002, my Supervisees include other Clinical Supervisors from across Blackpool, Lancashire and Cumbria.
