I am registered on the British Psychological Society's Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors and offer supervision to counsellors and counselling psychologists who are either undertaking their training or are fully qualified. I am an experienced clinical supervisor of 25 years and offer input to counsellors and psychologists from trainee to experienced practitioners in statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
Supervision is a collegial support system for therapists' work and especially their clinical practice and / or teaching practice. The consultancy supervision I offer is for the 'whole person' giving the therapist or counsellor the opportunity to explore career developments and CPD options as well as find support and input to their clinical and/or teaching work.
The approach is systemic taking into account the context in which the counsellor or therapist works. It offers a space to explore feelings, thoughts and experiences of practice and therefore an arena to develop that practice in self awareness, knowledge and expertise. Supervision can have an element of teaching and therefore learning which can affect both supervisee and supervisor.
