Supervision details
I have worked in mental health services since 2001 and offer supervision and consultation to psychological therapists, counsellors, art therapists, and trainees as part of my NHS and private practice. As a qualified art psychotherapist I am able to support practitioners with an interest in art-based approaches to develop skills and confidence.
Currently employed as a part-time lecturer on the University of South Wales Art Therapy MA, I also teach on the Welsh National CAMHS module for multi-disciplinary CAMHS staff. I am a trainer and co-ordinator for Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Therapy, and have gained a working knowledge of co-productive service improvement through leading on this within my service.
Having trained in different models I am able to integrate an MBT attachment based, trauma-informed approach together with learning from co-production methodology. My approach is to provide clear session boundaries, aims and objectives, and I am able to provide skills training in addition to reflective space as appropriate.
Since completing core training in Art Therapy I have trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy, and Children’s Accelerated Trauma Training (CATT). I have also completed Mentalization Based Therapy Training - Adolescents (MBT-A) and MBT-Children (brief assessment).

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
