Counselling Directory gains PIF TICK accreditation to become a ‘trusted information creator’

Happiful’s Counselling Directory has been awarded the PIF TICK – the UK’s only assessed quality mark for print and online health and care information.

To become a ‘trusted information creator’, the Counselling Directory team had to undergo an assessment showing they met the 10 key criteria, set out by the Patient Information Forum (PIF). This means you can be assured that what you are reading, watching or listening to is evidence-based, understandable, jargon-free, up-to-date and produced to the best possible standard.

Ellen Lees, Head of Content said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Counselling Directory has received the PIF TICK certification. Gaining the PIF TICK shows we have a strong process for developing our health information resources, and that we truly care about the quality of the information we publish.

“With so much information available online, it can be difficult to know what to trust, but this quality mark is a quick and easy way for people to be assured that our information is trustworthy and reliable.”

The PIF TICK was launched in May 2020 and is run by the non-profit Patient Information Forum (PIF). A public website, piftick.org.uk, was launched the following year in July 2021 to raise awareness of PIF TICK accredited members and help people find trusted health information. The site also includes guides on topics including spotting false health information and understanding evidence.
