PR Campaign

February 2011

As part of our ongoing PR campaign we are looking for more stories from counsellors who have their own first person experience of counselling which may have driven their desire to become a counsellor themselves. We are particularly looking for male counsellors who have had counselling either for a specific issue or perhaps to regain some direction / control over their life. We would also like to hear from counsellors who had counselling for relationship issues or grief - particularly the loss of one or both parents.

If you feel happy to talk about your experiences in the hope it may help others we would be delighted to hear from you.

What do we need from you?

  • A telephone conversation to talk about your story so that we can write it up
  • A conversation with a journalist when we secure potential coverage for your story
  • Willingness to be photographed for your piece in a national newspaper / magazine

These stories are to support specific press campaigns over the next couple of months.

If you think you can help please contact our PR agency, Lily Pad PR, with a brief overview of your story, contact details and availability for a chat next week:

November 2010

We have appointed a new PR agency to promote www.counsellingdirectory.org.uk in the national consumer press.

As part of this activity we would like to be able to offer up some of our counsellors as spokespeople from the site to comment about relevant mental health and wellbeing issues from addictions, stress and depression, to divorce, dementia and PTSD.

We’re also interested to hear from counsellors who started out on their career path because of personal experience – they themselves had counselling which made them want to help others in the same way.

What do we need from you?

  • A 10 minute conversation to talk about your experiences / specialist areas of work
  • A brief conversation with a journalist (or sometimes simply an email comment / piece of advice) when we secure potential coverage. Also content regularly required e.g. top 5 tips to deal with stress
  • A photograph to accompany any press comment

If you think you can help please contact our PR agency, Lily Pad PR:
