It's not me, it's you!

No one can tell you how you’re feeling or what you are thinking, (though enough people will try)! Counselling aims to help you find your own way forward and will help you to find your authentic self rather than being caught up in what is ‘expected’ or how society dictates who you should be.

People come to counselling for many reasons, to offload
their thoughts and feelings or to find answers to their unresolved issues. Some arrive wishing to improve their relationships or to find the right words to end one. Others come to explore their inner selves and to ask ‘who am I?’ in the search to discover their identity.

Talking about ‘it’ can help you to piece together, identify
or solve your issues enabling you to move forward. Talking in an environment that offers discretion and the freedom to explore your thoughts is therapeutic and rewarding. Therapeutic in that your thoughts will be given a voice and feelings can be explored without judgement. You can say what you want to say and at the same time experience a trusting and honest relationship with me as your therapist.  You won’t be told what you ‘ought’ to do, or what you ‘should’ think or say.

Counselling can be rewarding in many ways. For some, the
reward is knowing their private thoughts remain private, their comments will not be thrown back at them during an argument or be discussed on a social network. For others, the reward is experiencing a sense of empowerment , improved confidence and self-esteem, and a feeling that they did something about ‘it’.

Whatever your ‘it’ is, counselling could be the best way to
discover the expert within you!
