About me

Welcome, I am a qualified and experienced Senior Accredited Counsellor offering individual counselling and couples counselling covering a wide range of issues. I am also a Senior Accredited Supervisor and hold a Certificate in Supervision and offer supervision to student and qualified counsellors.

Accreditation "means that I have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the BACP."

Senior Accreditation "shows current and potential clients, employers and colleagues that i am an experienced, mature and accomplished practitioner in my specialism and that i have continued to reflect and develop since my initial accreditation as a counsellor/psychotherapist”

I have an established private practice and at all times you will receive a personalised service. I have experience working with a wide range of clients on both short and long term basis. I also have extensive experience and a special interest in working with Couples who require relationship counselling, and clients suffering with anxiety & depression.

We all have times when we feel life is a struggle and we find it difficult to co

Is anxiety, OCD or depression making life difficult for you?

Are you suffering from low self esteem / lack of confidence or trying to come to terms with a loss or bereavement?

Are you struggling to control your temper and looking for help with anger management?

Do you have relationship issues with your partner and fed up having the same old arguments and fights?

Could couple counselling / relationship counselling help improve your relationship?

Do you feel nobody listens or understands?

Talking things through and exploring your issues with a qualified counsellor can help. Through counselling I can offer you a secure, accepting and non-judgement environment, in which you can express any issues or concerns you may have, past or present.

Sometimes by exploring painful and difficult experiences, we can begin to make sense of what has happened, and come to understand the affect it may be having upon us and our well-being.

Very often we find it difficult to express intense feelings, such as anger, embarrassment, grief, guilt and hate to our friends and family. Counselling can offer you space and time to express and explore such feelings, in a safe supportive place.

Counselling is not about giving advice or taking away your autonomy, it is about helping you to understand yourself and your situation, whilst providing the tools to enable you to build up your self esteem, and empowering you to be able to make choices and decisions that are right for you as an individual. It is about offering support and understanding to enable you to deal with life changes or simply coming to terms with life events.

Individual counselling is on a one to one basis and is tailored to suit your individual needs.

Couple counselling/Relationship counselling is for any two people within a relationship, e.g. marriage, partners, same sex couples, parent/child, siblings (over 18)

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Aims of the group -

• To offer ongoing support for counsellors working with couples

• To explore issues and challenges around working with couples
• To share knowledge and experiences from fellow professionals
• To share strategies and interventions, whilst exploring new avenues and directions for work with our couples

Group facilitated by Victoria Cutting. MBACP (Snr.Accred Counsellor & Snr.Accred Supervisor)

I have over 13 years experience working with couples within my private practice. I have a real passion for my work with couples and would like to share my experience and passion with other couple counsellors.

TESTIMONIALS from past clients -

COUNSELLOR! – (Victoria Cutting)

Your titlle above is so important to me
Without your professional expertise, Victoria,
I dread to think what sort of state I would be.

Seven weeks ago-when I first entered your door
Never in my life – had I been counselled before,
These past few weeks, I have opened up so much,
And now I really feel I need to keep in touch’.

Perhaps one day soon, I shall make up my mind
By completely leaving all my anguish behind?
Please consider my need and keep counselling me
You will be successful. Just you wait and see!

Janet.
(This lovely poem was written for me by one of my earliest clients)

"From the moment I met Victoria I felt very comfortable and completely at ease which is very important when telling someone your personal problems. Throughout my counselling Victoria was always so supportive and patient and helped me through a very dark time in my life. I would not hesitate to recommend Victoria, she really is very good at what she does."   TS.

We immediately felt comfortable with Victoria after our initial telephone conversation and were most fortunate to have found some one to successfully guide us through one of life's many traumatic and testing times.
A thoughtful unbiased approach assisted us in working toward a brighter future
We can't thank her enough.   E & N, Essex .

This was my first experience of counselling, we were struggling as a couple to speak to each other. On top of this we had a huge life changing decision to make. There was so much emotion involved. I found Victoria online and had my first session, I had no idea what to expect, somehow she made me feel at ease. The location was private which was perfect for us. Being in the room we could talk openly about anything. We actually changed course and went for couples counselling. Victoria uncovered parts of us as a couple which we never ever thought had an effect on us. Without the sessions we wouldn’t be in the place we are now and we hold a lot of thanks to Victoria for this. JD

“ Victoria has been my supervisor for around two and a half years now and we have worked together on a regular monthly basis.  I have always found it easy to talk to Victoria and because of her many years of experience as a Counsellor, has a great deal of knowledge to share. Nothing is too much trouble for her and  should I need to call her or email her to ask for advice, she always responds promptly, so I always feel supported by her.  Working in private practice can feel quite isolated sometimes and having a close relationship with a supervisor is therefore extremely important”
