About me

Hello.  I can  help you find a way forward from what is troubling you. I've had many very grateful clients who have moved forward.

I am a fully trained person-centred counsellor with 22 years experience.  I specialise in anxiety, relationship issues, bereavement, domestic violence, separation and divorce,  physical and sexual abuse, depression, serious assault and post traumatic stress disorder, self-harming and addictions.

I am now counselling in a secluded room in my house I am following the procedures recommended by the Government and BAC P. However WhatsApp is still available and it enables us to view one another. You may  feel anxious, distressed and confused. I can understand that and I am here to help. It's difficult struggling on your own. I am also happy to offer telephone if you prefer.

If you can no longer trust your partner due to infidelity,  we  can explore  how it has been for you and I will help you find a way forward . If you feel overwhelmed and under pressure,  it is time to seek help from someone outside the family , who will not judge you.  The good news is as a trained counsellor, I can help you to find a new path out of your difficulties. If your partner is being moody or abusive, it's important you seek help a.s.a.p. Many are drinking more or turning to drugs and this can cause problems in relationships which need to be addressed.

I am a trained Couples Counsellor,  so I can help you both explore issues that are troubling you and causing distress. This results in a resolution in an amicable way.

My approach is person-centred and integrative, which means we work on whatever you bring to the sessions to enable you to move forward.

If you want  freedom from fear that is immobilizing you or  the memories that haunt you, I will give you strategies to overcome that sense of helplessness and help you sleep more soundly.

If you are still suffering from long Covid and are finding life difficult , I can help you to adjust to the 'new normal.'

Are you worried about your child, because they are sad and tearful? Are they having sleepless nights or nightmares? Are they finding school difficult and  resistant to settling down to their homework or becoming very angry or tearful? I can help them and you talk about what's bothering them and suggest ways of coping.
I was a Primary school teacher for many years and have three grown up sons, so I am aware of the joys and sorrows of family life.

Do you feel anxious most of the time?
Are you experiencing sleepless nights, or loss of appetite, lack of concentration or having flashbacks from a traumatic experience in the past? I can help you to get your life back together.

If you're losing self confidence, are walking on eggshells or being verbally or physically abused by your partner or a member of your family, you don't have to put up with it. You need help urgently. Why not give me a ring to talk things through and consider the next step.

H
ave you been betrayed by someone you loved and trusted and are devastated?
Do you long for someone who listens and understands and will help you regain your self confidence and believe in yourself again? A trained counsellor like me will help you to get back on track. I am a qualified in counselling couples. You can find a more rewarding way of communicating with each other with a facilitator who is trained.

Are you aware that you're not living up to your full potential at home or at work? Maybe you have come to a crossroads in life and have no idea which way to turn. I will enable to to make the right decision.

Has loss of work, or redundancy left you confused and reduced your self-confidence? If so, counselling will give you the opportunity to unpack those feelings and enable you to move forward.

We can  meet indoors in a comfortable, confidential area, where you can relax to talk about what is troubling you and be empowered to make decisions which will alter the situation.

I offer short and long-term, face to face counselling according to the B.A.C.P code of ethics, of which I am a registered member.

Friends and family may want to help, but talking to a person who is trained and experienced but not involved, is the way forward.

Counselling will enable you to focus on the strengths that have helped you survive so far and discover resources that you were unaware of, which will lead to a more satisfactory way of living.

Together we can find a new pathway, so you can move from a difficult, dark place to a brighter and more fulfilling future.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
