About me

I am a Humanistic Therapeutic Counsellor with over 14 years of experience. I work primarily from the understanding that the alliance between us will be a catalyst for positive change in the therapeutic work that we undertake together. My therapeutic approach is an integrative one, whereby I draw on a number of theories and approaches that I have been trained in. My overall aim is to provide a safe and positive place for you to explore your concerns and find your own meanings for your experiences.

I offer a neuro-affirmative therapy approach. I am autistic, ADHD and dyspraxic myself, and feel strongly that neurodivergent individuals should be able to access and choose neurodivergent-led, affirmative therapy where possible.

I work predominantly in a relational way. This means that I place emphasis and importance on the value of building a connection with my clients, to facilitate self-discovery, meaning and insight. Research has shown that the therapeutic relationship is paramount between client and practitioner - ahead of treatment modalities and interventions.

I am also qualified in Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy, with Hypnotherapy being an additional tool we can use in therapy if desired. Hypnotherapy can help you achieve a deep, focused attention on an idea or suggestion. We may use Hypnotherapy as an adjunct to therapeutic interventions as a way of cementing new beliefs and ideals. The style of Hypnotherapy that I use is not trance-based; rather a focused state of attention where you are fully present throughout.

I have a particular interest in the psychological benefits of movement. I have studied the relationship between movement and wellbeing with Dr Peter Lovatt, and this is an optional area to explore in therapy.

I specialise in the following areas: -

  • Autistic and ADHD wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Therapy support for pre and post adult Autism and ADHD diagnosis
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Mindfulness
  • Movement and Wellbeing

I offer both face to face and online sessions from my practice in Bedford. I am currently holding a small waiting list and have no evening availability; please bear this in mind when contacting me.

I also talk to groups and organisations about Autistic and ADHD wellbeing in an educational and awareness capacity. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and arrange a resource estimate.

I am an accredited registrant member of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society and a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register. I abide by each of their Code of Ethics.
