About me

Do you feel anxious and don't know how to cope? Do you feel that you are not good enough for work, family or friends? Have you had a bereavement and are you finding it hard? Or do you feel that things are just too much at the moment and you are exhausted from thinking and feeling all the time?

I can help you to

  • Process what has happened and find a way of carrying it with you in a way that works for you.
  • Find ways of coping with and processing anxiety and trauma.
  • Feel less anxious.
  • Talk through a situation/issue to make sense of it.
  • Change any behaviour/thoughts you feel are stopping you leading the life you want to lead.
  • Find and develop new ways of coping with situations/feelings/emotions.
  • Improve your confidence/self-esteem

We achieve this together through talking about you and what has lead you to this point then finding ways, that work for you, to achieve your goals for the future

I am an trauma informed, Accredited Counsellor, EMDR Therapist, EFT Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner and trainee supervisor, with specific experience working with individuals who are neuro-diverse, and ADHD offering individual counselling alongside EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Life Coaching, to ensure you get the best, most appropriate support to empower you to achieve your goals.

I have extensive experience supporting people with anxiety, low self-esteem, those who have been bereaved, particularly in traumatic circumstances such as through suicide and those who have autism, ADHD or who are neuro-diverse.

It is so hard to know who will be the right counsellor/therapist for you, to tell who you will be able to be open with with so why not get in touch for an informal chat and to ask any questions you may have to help you feel at ease when choosing me to support you during this difficult time in your life.

I am based in Adlington close to Chorley and Horwich.

Sessions are confidential.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
