About me

Life can sometimes be stressful, challenging and unfulfilling, and this can deeply affect our emotional and physical well being. We can feel sad, angry or scared in a way that makes life and relationships seem overwhelming or impossible.

Whilst it may feel difficult to ask for help, I have found that providing a safe, confidential environment, with a relaxed, non-judgemental, encouraging style, allows clients to feel that they can be open and to work through what has brought them to therapy. This may be a specific issue, a present difficult circumstance, or something that has been affecting them for a very long time.

Working in an integrative way, using different psychotherapy and leadership models, allows me to tailor my approach to the specific needs of my clients.
This allows the client to gain a deeper understanding of their situation and increased self-awareness, which can lead to meaningful change.

With vast experience, I provide counselling and coaching for adults, couples and young people. I have expertise in relationship issues, anxiety and panic attacks, anger management, low self-esteem and depression. I also specialise in working with young people, aged 11 - 25 years, and am passionate about enabling people to manage their well-being and resilience. I also work as an Executive Coach within organisations, both in the UK and globally.

Please send me an email or call me to arrange an initial consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

My qualifications are a second degree in Integrative Counselling, a Diploma in Counselling Skills, and a Diploma in Training Management. I am also qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and am an Accredited Member of the BACP, and BACP Coaching and the Association for Coaching.

I am a certified administrator of  MBTI, and an accredited trainer of the Penn Resiliency Programme, from the University of Pennsylvania and a Visiting Tutor at Cranfield University School of Management.

I have worked both in the NHS and in private practice. I worked in a counselling agency for young people for many years, and specialise in working with young people in my private practice, which I operate from offices very conveniently situated in the centre of Bagshot.

I am trained in relational theory and I have vast experience in supporting people with relationship difficulties. I have expertise in working with adults, including the elderly, and I visited a care home for a number of years.

For over 25 years, I have also worked in Leadership Development, focusing on personal awareness and individual effectiveness, coaching and facilitating individuals and teams.

I hold an enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
