About me

I am a fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist based in London. I provide help to people who are experiencing emotional difficulties such as: anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, low self-confidence. If you are struggling with some of these emotions maybe a therapist can help. I provide short and long term therapy.

In my work the emphasis is on creating a safe and confidential environment to encourage emotional growth and to allow you to resolve problems and make changes in order to live a more fulfilled life.

My aim is to help you to understand and resolve your difficulties by providing the time and space to reflect on the underlying nature of emotional conflicts. My clinical experience has shown me that this can bring relief and can also opens up the possibility of changing unhelpful patterns which were previously repeated without awareness.

Sometimes an opportunity to talk something through with someone who is trained to listen attentively and objectively, without judging or offering direct advice, can provide a tremendous relief - as we are often able to speak more freely and openly in this situation.

Training, qualifications & experience

Masters degree in psychodynamic therapy, my training was psychodynamic and psychoanalytic. I am a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

I have specialist training in cancer and ophthalmology nursing.

I have worked for the NHS, national charities and with private clients for over 20 years. I work with individuals and groups. My areas of expertise are in health care and specifically cancers and diseases of the eye.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
