About me

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out to a counsellor for the first time, so please be assured I am often described as warm, friendly and empathic. I have been counselling for 20 years and am currently working with adults and young adults. I have been qualified since 2004 and became a fully accredited member of the BACP in 2009 and since that time have worked at Brighton University as a counsellor and most recently at a school in Kent for over 7 years as well as counselling privately. I offer one-to-one counselling in a private and confidential setting. Appointments can be flexible during the week. Counselling can be short-term, to manage a specific problem, or longer term open-ended work for those who wish to explore further and gain more insight. If you are feeling low, you have a specific issue or sense that something just does not feel right, counselling can provide a safe environment, where you can talk privately and in confidence.

I see people from all types of backgrounds, suffering from all sorts of issues, including anxiety, depression, loss, bereavement and relationship issues.

I believe that counselling offers people the opportunity to talk about their feelings, to explore possible underlying causes to the difficulties that they are currently experiencing and helps foster any changes that people may wish to make. It is a process which aims to help you reach your own decisions and make your own choices in life. It is not about giving advice, making decisions for you or imposing opinions on you.

I trained to be a Counsellor once I had a family of my own, previously working in the TV and film industry.  I worked in a Children and Family Centre for 6 years supporting families with all aspects of parenting.

I offer you a caring, empathic and non-judgemental environment in which together we can discuss any issue you may wish to bring and can help you to facilitate any changes that you may wish to make.

I am also a qualified Supervisor and offer supervision to other counsellors. I aim to offer a safe space where counsellors can feel both challenged and supported.

I am able to see people in Forest Row or Horley.  Sessions can take place face to face, over the phone or via Teams. Please feel free to get in touch if there is any other information I can help you with. Thank you!

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
