About me

I am an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working with both individuals and couples. I believe that one of the most important factors in counselling is the relationship between the counsellor and client. I offer a warm, non-judgemental, confidential space for you to express and explore your current feelings and situation. I am based in Lee Common, close to Great Missenden and Chesham and within easy reach of Amersham, Prestwood, Wendover and surrounding Chiltern area.

You may be looking for counselling support to help you work through a current situation, crisis, depression/anxiety or relationship breakdown, or you may be looking to address longer term difficulties, such as past experiences or repetitive patterns of behaving or relating to others. My practice is informed by psychodynamic theory which understands that as well as present factors, both our past experiences and unconscious conflicts have an impact on how we think, feel and behave in the present.

If you would like to explore the possibility of counselling or psychotherapy with me, please leave a telephone message or email and I will contact you to arrange an initial consultation. This would last for an hour to give us plenty of time to discuss your current situation and to decide whether counselling/psychotherapy is right for you now.

As part of my continuing professional development I attend several conferences and training seminars each year.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

Many people today struggle with their sense of identity, with who they are, with a poorly defined or fragmented sense of 'self'. The process of therapy can help you develop a more confident and integrated sense of who you are so that you can have more satisfying relationships and fulfill your potential in other areas of your life.
