About me

I am an Integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, a Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist. & a Movement & Expressive Arts therapist. I offer an inclusive and confidential psychotherapy and counselling service in a caring environment, providing both short term solution focused and longer term more in-depth contracts working with individuals and groups. Working Integratively means that I draw on a number of different theories and approaches in order to suit the individual needs of clients.
I also provide supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees.
I currently run a practice online & also at my office locally in Kingsbridge, Devon.
I specialise in the treatment of trauma using a Sensorimotor & Body Focused Psychotherapy approach.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training and Experience - I originally trained in Group Psychotherapy and Facilitation at Richmond College and then went on to train at the Metanoia Institute and have an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am a trained Advanced Sensorimotor Psychotherapist for the treatment of trauma & a Movement & Expressive Arts therapist & educator.
I commenced my psychotherapy and counselling career in 1997 and have worked within a variety of settings; alcohol & addictions counsellor, college counsellor, organisational workplace counsellor, G.P liaison counsellor, youth counsellor, group therapist and personal development group facilitator, counselling and psychotherapy in private practice. I have been the clinical supervisor and training development officer for City and Hackney Alcohol Service, as well as the manager of an abstinence day programme and a 12 step programme.
I am the managing director of ‘Phoenix Lifeskills Ltd’ a company providing psychotherapy, consultation, workshops and training programmes ‘in house’ for various organisations and colleges.
As a continued professional development specialist lecturer and workshop facilitator, I run workshops nation wide.
I am a college lecturer, examiner, trainer and clinical supervisor for counselling and psychotherapy students at various colleges and institutes in London, UK and Europe, including Holloway University, Metanoia Institute, Matrix College, Minster Centre and Regents College.
Until July 2021, I was a member of the teaching faculty at the Metanoia Institute on the MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy Training and the MA in Coaching Psychology and Holloway University Counselling Psychology Doctorate Training. Until recently I was the clinical supervisor for both BUPA's Psychological Services and the Post Adoption Center (PAC).
I have recently spent time training as a Movement & Expressive Arts therapist with Daria Halprin & Anna Halprin in California and offer Tamalpa Life/ Art Process Workshops.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
