About me
Hi, my name's Anna. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Trainer with a private practice in central Harborne, Birmingham where I see clients on both a short term and open-ended basis.
I also offer reflective spaces for those working in Senior Leadership roles across the public and private sectors who want to explore their personal and professional development.
It can be a daunting experience choosing a therapist and beginning therapy. Some people wish to look into a particular area or issue in their life while others have a general wish to explore larger themes and understand why they are the way they are. Many clients find that looking at both of these areas is helpful to them in making sense of their life.
My style of counselling is integrative, which means that rather than following any single theoretical model exclusively, I use a range of theories about how people develop and function in order to find the most helpful way to work with a client. I work with you to meet you where you are and try to understand, on every level, exactly how things are for you. Moving forward with your problems and making changes in your life both now and for the future comes from this 'understanding together'.
In addition to my work as a psychotherapist, I have worked for over 20 years with both adults, young people and their families which has included issues relating to family dynamics, safeguarding and abuse, trauma, torture, disability, self-harm, eating disorders, depression, domestic violence, relationships and bereavement.
I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist.
My practice is easily accessible by public transport. Evening appointments are available.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
