About me

Very experienced (over 20 years), friendly counsellor based in Stoke Newington, N16, near the borders of Islington N1,Highbury N5 and Finsbury Park N4.

I work both short and long term with individuals, both men and women.

Please visit www.londoncounsellor.co.uk

My experience over the years includes working with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, general feelings of dissatisfaction with life, eating disorders, addictions, relationship issues, obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma, bereavement, post natal depression, mid-life issues, bullying and work place bullying, post natal depression, low self esteem & confidence and so on.

Once we've had a chat and assuming you decide to have an initial session of counselling, the standard procedure is to meet once a week at the same time. Occasionally some clients decide they would like to meet twice a week.

Each session lasts for 50 minutes and appointments can be made most weekdays and some evenings.

Evening sessions cost slightly more.

How long counselling lasts depends on many variables. However, we can agree to aim for certain goals, and build in opportunities to review how it's going.

Skye counselling sessions are also possible. Sometimes meeting face to face for the initial session can be helpful but not always possible or necessary.

Please do look at me website www.londoncounsellor.co.uk  but any questions or if you would like a chat about counselling please do call me.

Further details are on my website - please see the link above.

Please call or email me if you would like to find out more.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
