Dealing with my complex layered traumas
Like many, I have always been the type of person to try to cope on my own, no matter how bad my situation. By doing this I alienated a lot of friends and family over the years.
Many years ago a counsellor tried to mediate for me with a family member. It did not go down well at all. Since then I left it alone, hoping to move on from it all. I learned the very hard way that all my so-called complex layered traumas are so because I didn't deal with them at the time.
17 years later and I've learned so much from talking things through. Discovered much about myself through Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, self-examination, environmental and social factors. I am pleased that I did open up in the end, it has benefited me hugely and makes me look at life entirely differently.
