Working with therapy groups - 2-day course
Working with therapy groups - a two-day course with Janine Piccirella; psychotherapist, trainer and supervisor (PTSTA), UKCP reg, MBACP accredited and EMDR practitioner,
on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February 2020.
Information about the training
Interested in running groups or wish to brush up on your group skills? Groups are an integral part of our development; we are born into a group, develop within groups, and experience a range of groups throughout our lives. All of these groups can impact us both positively and negatively.
As counsellors and psychotherapists, we often work one to one, and sometimes with couples. As a further tool, group therapy can be a powerful co-created learning experience for both clients and therapists.
With transactional analysis theory and clinical examples, we will explore the beginning, middle, and end of group therapy.
- planning and preparation of a group
- how to support the group to form and develop
- what can emerge in the group process
- how to support the group to repair from ruptures
- how to facilitate an ending
We will learn how to manage group process therapeutically to gain the desired changes from the perspective of the client and therapist. This course is suitable for those who have qualified or are near completion of their training. This course will extend your knowledge and skill base to work with groups.
Hello, my name is Janine Piccirella. I am a qualified psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with UKCP registration and BACP accreditation, and I am a qualified EMDR therapist. I am a HIPC - humanistic and integrative psychotherapy college member.
My main modality of psychotherapy is the humanistic model of transactional analysis (TA). My work as a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer is shaped by the philosophical assumptions of TA; that people are OK, people can think for themselves, and life decisions can be changed.
I am passionate about learning and development from a feeling, thinking, and behavioural stance. I hope the variety of stimulus in the training I offer will help people to integrate their learning.
