Working with the inner critic
Transforming our relationship with the inner critic, shame and guilt
For most of us, the inner critic makes its appearance when we think we’ve made a mistake; leaving almost as suddenly as it arrives. But what about the critic that dogs our every step? The one that limits our potential and, with it, our ability to live our lives to the full?
In this practical and experiential two-day workshop, we explore the mechanisms that underpin and maintain the inner critic. We will explore and develop the skills essential for changing our relationship with the inner critic, including...
- the ability to respond rather than react to the inner critic
- to develop a greater awareness of the characteristics and purpose of the inner critic as well as the parts that are shamed and guilty
- learning to nurture a mindful way of being with punitive, harsh and undermining messages of the inner critic
