This event aims to provide valuable insights, resources, and strategies for professionals and individuals dealing with this sensitive issue. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from Jacqueline who is a psychotherapist with 17 years’ experience in this field.

What is covered?

Day one will see the participants gain knowledge of what is CSA, noticing and responding to signs and disclosures, theories of offending behaviour and trauma responses.

Day two focuses on learning from serious case reviews and the impact on workers (vicarious trauma), techniques for working alongside someone who has been sexually abused and how to remain safe and grounded in this work.

Jacqueline creates a safe environment to facilitate knowledge sharing with case examples to amplify learning, group discussions and time for personal reflection. Importantly it is about what is next! Often practitioners have the knowledge but lack the confidence to enter this area of work.

Who is the course aimed at?

This course looks at the impacts of CSA on children into adulthood and thus would suit practitioners working with children or adults
