Working with domestic abuse in therapy
This course is aimed at those with a basic understanding of domestic abuse.
This event looks at:
- How to work with victims and perpetrators in a safe way.
- Exploring the different types of abuse: coercive control, emotional, mental, physical, sexual and financial.
- Exploring the role of the therapist.
- Considering dilemmas.
- Developing understanding around assessments and contracts.
About Gemma Ridge
Gemma Ridge is Accredited with the BACP. She is an integrative psychotherapist and training consultant who specialises in domestic abuse and addiction.
She is a director of 'HealthWise Leeds Therapy Centre', and Clinical Supervisor.
Gemma worked for the probation service for 12 years.
