Aimed at counsellors and trainees wishing to learn more about ADHD and working with neurodiversity, this day of training attempts to answer two questions:

  • What is ADHD, really?
  • And what’s it like to live with ADHD?'

Dictionary definitions of ADHD are easy to come by, but bear little relation to the lived experience.

David Levy was already a BACP-registered counsellor when he was diagnosed at 42, and his subsequent attempts at finding support led to frustration, few options, and a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings.

In the time since, he has developed his knowledge on the subject and now works predominantly with neurodiverse people in private practice.

Split into two distinct halves, this day of training looks at the dictionary definition of the condition and contrasts it with the lived experience; from history and diagnostic pathways, to the connections to addiction and picking apart the intricacies of the adult ADHD diagnosis from the inevitable comorbidities.

Cost:

  • Early bird (until 18th October 2025) - standard £105/trainee counsellor £85
  • Thereafter - £125/£105
