Who is this course for?
This course will suit anyone who already has a basic understanding and experience of the counselling process and those who are also looking to extend their knowledge and experience of working in the interesting, demanding and fascinating world of couple counselling.
Aims of the course
- To understand the difference between relational issues and sexual dysfunction.
- To gain basic knowledge of biology and physical issues.
- To have an understanding of the circular relationship between sexual and relational issues.
- To have a better understanding of yourself, in relation to sexual issues.
During the course, we will be exploring the issues couples bring with regard to sex – what are the presenting problems and how to uncover the problems when the couples find it hard to talk about. We will look at how to create a safe space to talk about sex, and knowing when to refer on for PST as well as recognising and working with difference and within own competence.
