Working therapeutically with disordered eating and eating disorders, with Julia Buckroyd
Saturday 13th July 2019, 10am–4pm.
This workshop offers an introduction to trainee and qualified counsellors and others to consider a framework for understanding the misuse of food, using attachment theory, and then to offer a wide range of strategies for working with clients. The workshop is active and interactive; participants should be willing to reflect on their own eating behaviour as well as that of their clients.
Julia Buckroyd is Emeritus Professor of Counselling at the University of Hertfordshire
and a therapist in private practice, specialising in working with people with all sorts of
problems with food, weight, shape, and size. She has written widely in this area. Her
most recent book is 'Understanding your Eating', 2011.
