Night falls early and quickly in the depth of winter. The days are short and it can seem like darkness is suddenly upon us. While we often linger to watch the summer sunsets, it's rare at this time of year to really observe the transition from light to dark.

I invite you to do just that; to sit in mindful contemplation and observe the sights and sounds of this time of day; to discover how the colours, textures and shadows shift as the light fades and the darkness descends.

I'll guide some simple exercises to still the mind, awaken our senses and deepen our connection to the nature around us. Then, with our backs to a warm fire, we will sit in mediation (eyes open) and observe the world around us as it transitions from daylight to darkness. We'll then share our experiences around the fire with a mug of mulled apple juice or a cup of tea.

  • No experience necessary.
  • Booking essential (places limited).

This unusual meditation will take place outside, in the beautiful Culpeper Community Garden, a tranquil oasis of nature just a short walk from Angel underground station.

This session is offered on a cash donation basis (£10 suggestion). After costs, donations will support the wonderful work of Culpeper Community Garden.
