Using two chair work effectively
This workshop will focus on theory and practice related to working with the ‘Two Chair’ technique offering guidance, demonstrations and practice in this powerful therapeutic intervention. ‘Two Chair' work has to arise from the immediate encounter that requires timely and skilful application to ensure a meaningful experience for both counsellor and client.
The workshop will cover:
- Understanding the theoretical underpinning of chair work
- Setting up, managing and working towards closure in chair work
- Demonstrations and practice of chair work
- Trouble shooting the pitfalls of chair work

Alan Leach BSc.Clin.Psych. studied at the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Philadelphia and has worked in the counselling and psychotherapy field for 30 years. He has extensive experience in teaching and working with dreams, grief and shame leading workshops in the UK, Norway, USA and Australia.
