Course overview:

As therapists we aim to form positive attachments with our clients. However, understanding your clients attachment style can impact the way in which you do this. Through this course participants will be able to explore attachment theory and understand how to work with attachments in the therapy room. 

This is a 4 hour CPD and certificates will be issued. 

10am-2pm with a small break.

Refreshments will be provided at 9.45am and then also at break time.

Learning outcomes:

  • By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Have an understanding of Bowlby’s attachment theory
  • Understand the impact of the strange situation on attachment theory
  • Have a deeper understanding of how to work with attachments in the therapeutic process.

About the trainers:

Fiona Gunasekara 

Fiona is an experienced Integrative counsellor and supervisor. She has been the Manager of the West Kent Alcohol Service (Kenward Trust) and has worked for KCA as a service manager for 12 years. She has also worked as a counsellor at Dorton College (RLSB) for the past eight years. She currently works in Private practice and also teaches on a variety of Level 4 Diploma.
