The menopause club
Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of peri-menopause, menopause or is already post-menopausal is welcome to attend this therapeutic support group which will run for six weeks in a welcoming space just off Brick Lane, E1.
It will be a safe space to express emotions about this stage of life, which can include feelings related to the loss of fertility or libido, and the physical, mental and emotional impact of hormonal changes. This transitional time can also raise deep questions about how you want to spend the rest of your life.
No medical advice will be provided during these sessions, but we can share resources and practices that we have found to be helpful in managing symptoms or dealing with the emotional ups and downs of this time of life. We can also share our humour, compassion and some of the wisdom that is necessary to step into mature elderhood.
Transitioning from our fertile years into post-menopause, although challenging, can provide an opportunity to shape our lives anew, growing in confidence as women, who for some, will have lived about half of our lives. This can also be a time to explore new creative ventures or career opportunities and become a source of wisdom to our friends, families and communities.
The group will run for six weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-8pm starting on 1st September until 13th October (apart from 22nd September when there will be no session).
The cost for the six-week group is £120 per person. A reduced fee is available for those on a low wage or unemployed. Please email me for details.
Unfortunately, this space is not currently wheelchair accessible.
