The Hold Me Tight (HMT) programme: Couples relationship enhancement workshop
The Hold Me Tight (HMT) couples workshop: Conversations for connection is for couples who want to grow stronger together and enhance the quality of their relationship.
Join me for this wonderfully experiential and interactive relationship education programme based on the book Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for A Lifetime of Love by Dr Sue Johnson, the founder of emotionally focused therapy (EFT).
Each HMT series comprises two days of short lively presentations to the group and watching short video clips of couples taking part in HMT sessions with Dr Sue Johnson followed by safely facilitated deeply engaging intimate conversations that help each couple develop more openness, responsiveness and trust in each other. Watch and learn more about creating a safe and secure bond at https://youtu.be/JyUdhwVwRq8
The healing happens in the conversations. The group come together after each private couple conversation and those who feel like can share their experiences so we all learn from each other. These open-hearted couple conversations provide a stable foundation for safe loving relationships.
Who can attend?
This workshop is open to couples who are struggling or who want to deepen trust and intimacy within their relationship but not for couples in acute distress who would really benefit from couple therapy to overcome their relationship distress.
If your relationship has become like a wilting plant in need of some watering, then HMT might be what is needed to spring it back to life. It is also ideal for committed couples who want to improve their communication and connection or couples who have just started dating or are about to commit to a long-term relationship through moving in together, getting married or civic partnerships.
Health warning: The Hold Me Tight programme can be a prelude but not a substitute for individual or couples therapy. If you or your partner are experiencing acute relationship distress, serious depression or other mental health problems, you are also advised to seek individual or couples therapy.
Welcoming all diversity
All races, religious and sexual orientations are welcome. If you have any accessibility or other needs that it would be helpful for me to discuss with you then please contact me at email@example.com.
By the end of the workshop, you will:
- Understand the common negative relational patterns that cause conflict and emotional distance.
- Shape a more secure loving bond based on open honest heartfelt conversations.
- Create more vitality, emotional intimacy, sexual connection and joy in your relationship.
The seven facilitated conversations are based on the following topics:
- Understanding love and attachment.
- Recognising demon dialogues - negative patterns.
- Finding the raw spots - emotional triggers.
- Revisiting a rocky moment - repairing injuries.
- Hold me tight – deep engaging and connecting.
- Bonding through sex and touch.
- Keeping your love alive.
Workshop dates and times
I regularly enjoy facilitating these healing and transformative HMT workshops for small groups of couples at my venue in Winchmore Hill, North London over two consecutive days, a Thursday and Friday from 10am to 4pm. Book now for the next available HMT workshop date on 14-15th March 2019 to avoid disappointment or contact me for future dates.
The Quaker venue is a historic beautiful building located in tranquil grounds. There are lovely cafes and restaurants dotted round The Green to dine out for lunch. Light refreshments and drinks are provided during breaks.
Max six couples per series to ensure couples can receive my support if needed during the private conversations.
If you would like to register for a Hold Me Tight workshop with your partner, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out about availability, cost and future dates. The HMT workshops are booked on a first-come first-serve basis.
Before attending, I highly recommend reading at least the first four chapters of Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for A Lifetime of Love.
