Overview
A practical and informative workshop designed to equip counsellors with the knowledge and skills to support individuals experiencing domestic abuse.
Aims:
- Understand the different forms of domestic abuse and their psychological impact.
- Recognise warning signs and barriers to disclosure.
- Learn trauma-informed approaches and safety planning strategies.
- Develop confidence in responding to disclosures with empathy and professionalism.
- Understand responsibilities regarding child protection and adult support and protection.
- Explore self-care techniques to manage the emotional toll of this work.
