Domestic abuse training for counsellors (4 hours)

Overview

A practical and informative workshop designed to equip counsellors with the knowledge and skills to support individuals experiencing domestic abuse.

Aims:

  • Understand the different forms of domestic abuse and their psychological impact.
  • Recognise warning signs and barriers to disclosure.
  • Learn trauma-informed approaches and safety planning strategies.
  • Develop confidence in responding to disclosures with empathy and professionalism.
  • Understand responsibilities regarding child protection and adult support and protection.
  • Explore self-care techniques to manage the emotional toll of this work.
