Support groups and online forum for working online during the pandemic
I have set up a web forum called Lincolnshire Counselling Practitioners Online (Lincolnshire-counselling-practitioners-online@google groups.com) for Counsellors and Psychotherapists to use, if they wish, during the pandemic.
The purpose is to explore the possibilities of working online, and share good practice.
If you would like to use this forum please send me the email address you would like to use, and I will add this, and then send you the confirmation.
Please send this to email@example.com
It is helpful if you use a Gmail address to join, but not necessary. It is possible to join with other addresses.
I am also launching a support group linked to the forum on the Zoom platform.
It will take place fortnightly, on Fridays, between 4pm and 5pm, with a second group running from 5pm to 6 pm.
The first groups will take place this Friday 3rd April.
If you would like to participate, again please email me which hour suits you best, and I will send you the link. It is helpful if you have the (free) zoom software, but not essential.
The purpose is to:
- Gain confidence and experience in working online
- Hold our fears and fantasies about living and working through the pandemic, whilst we are also holding the fears and fantasies of others.
- The groups are for us all to invent, and develop, but they can only start with a boundary of confidentiality and a request that we treat ourselves and each other with respect.
I am dual-trained as an individual and a group psychotherapist. I have worked online, with some clients, for a variety of reasons, for four years. I am no expert and look forward to learning with, and from, others. I am a member of the Neuropsychoanalysis Association, and the Group Analytic Society, International.
