Supervising first aid for mental health (L3)
This two-day level three course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in developing a broader understanding of mental health conditions and acts as a useful qualification for those responsible for supervising/managing mental health in the workplace.
The course uses a range of methods/resources and on completion of written and practical assessment participants will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 3 Award (FAA L3).
The course covers the following topics:
- Day one: First aid for mental health. Identifying mental health conditions. Starting a conversation. Stress. Drugs and alcohol. Mental health in the workplace. Depression and anxiety.
- Day two: Self-harm. Suicide. Eating disorders. Personality disorders. Post-traumatic stress disorder. Psychosis. Schizophrenia.
Employers are being encouraged to seriously consider the mental and emotional wellbeing of their employees as a matter of priority.
Recommendations for legislation to put mental health on an equal footing with physical health within the workplace.
