Research study comparing acupuncture with CBT for anxiety
We are seeking people to participate in a feasibility study which compares acupuncture with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for the treatment of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD).
Purpose of the study: to gather information on the potential benefits and safety of acupuncture compared to CBT.
Participants will receive 8 sessions of either acupuncture or CBT for free.
To participate, you must be between 18 and 65 years of age and you will need:
- A letter from your GP or a mental heath professional confirming that you have been diagnosed with generalised anxiety disorder.
- Time to come for a session (each session will last 45 minutes); and to complete questionnaires at various points during and after your course of treatment.
