Research showcase 2024: 'Our diverse research community'
This day will offer a keynote, workshops and presentations, and a panel discussion. All attendees with receive a certificate of attendance and an electronic delegate pack. Some elements of the day will be recorded where possible.
Dr Valerie Watson will be our keynote speaker, delivering a presentation entitled “You are invited to research: bring love... it is essential”. Val will explore some of the common questions and challenges that are often faced by researchers and how the additional factors of power relations and identification with a minoritised or marginalised group enrich and transform the experience of research for all involved.
Dr Linda Finlay will be offering a workshop with bookable slots in the afternoon relating to “getting published” where delegates can draw on her wealth of experience in psychotherapy research and as a journal editor to gain clarity and insight into the publishing process.
We will also be displaying a number of interactive poster presentations and have a bookseller in attendance offering copies of relevant discounted books.
Afternoon sessions will be announced but we will have a range of presentations from SPTI graduates to choose from.
Our panel discussion will include Val Watson and Linda Finlay and members of SPTI academic staff as they reflect on the theme: “Our diverse research community?” providing an engaging and fast-paced exploration - inviting questions from delegates.
